The University of Utah has now joined the Oakridge Associated Universities (ORAU) group. This provides many opportunities for graduate student and postdoc fellowships, faculty/student/post doc research experiences, sabbaticals, & internships. Just a lot of opportunities. ORAU administers these programs for a variety of federal agencies including DOD (AF, Navy, Army, etc.), NASA, national labs, etc.

David Sallay is our new Assistant Thesis Editor
We would like to welcome David Sallay as our new assistant thesis editor. David received an MEd in foreign language education from the University of Pittsburgh. Before coming to the University of Utah, he spent two years teaching in Hungary and five years teaching English and writing at Qatar University.

Dr. David Kieda named Dean of the Graduate School
Interim Senior Vice President Michael Hardman has announced the appointment of Dr. David Kieda as the Dean of the Graduate School effective August 1, 2013. Dr. Kieda is currently Professor and Chair of the Department of Physics and Astronomy at the U and an internationally known researcher on the use of astronomical telescopes and observations
Kathryn Stockton Awarded Rosenblatt Prize
Kathryn Stockton, Distinguished Professor of English, was awarded the Rosenblatt Prize for Excellence. Presented annually to a faculty member who displays excellence in teaching, research and administrative efforts, the Rosenblatt Prize for Excellence is the University of Utah’s most prestigious award.
