Environmental Epidemiology and Exposure Assessment Research at EPA

The EPA Environmental Research and Business Support Program has an immediate opening for an Environmental Epidemiology and Exposure Assessment Research position with the Office of Research and Development at the EPA’s facility in Chapel Hill, NC. The selected candidate shall work side by side with postdoctoral researchers, Principal Investigators, and research personnel who specialize in research of health impacts from environmental exposures. Through these interactions, he/she shall be exposed to the philosophical and functional questions which arise when handling volumes of patient records and will receive premier instruction in analytic and ethical concerns which must be properly considered for the success of projects centered around electronic medical records

  • Full time, $20.96 per hour;
  • Earned at least a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Epidemiology, Public Health, Statistics, Social Sciences, Biostatistics, Data Sciences, or Computer Science, or closely related field from an accredited university or college within the last 24 months;
  • Demonstrated education and/or experience in applying statistical methods in analyzing data;
  • Demonstrated education and/or experience using geospatial methods, analyses and programming;
  • R-language programming (or other scripting language) experience;
  • Strong written, oral and electronic communication skills; and
  • A working knowledge of relational databases.
