All undergraduate and graduate degree-granting programs at the University are subject to regular review. This process serves three purposes: first, to inform long-range planning on the stability and viability of programs; second, to provide educational units (typically departments) with the opportunity to engage in self-study and program enhancement; and third, to inform the University and state agencies of program development and data. Each program is reviewed on a seven-year cycle. The review is conducted by internal and external review committee members and is summarized and approved by the Graduate Council or Undergraduate Council. Recommendations that can be achieved within the resources of the University are incorporated into an action plan for improvement during a discussion with the cognizant dean and senior vice president, summarized in a final memorandum of understanding. The most recent review packets are posted on this portal.
