The Broader Impacts (BI) criterion is an increasingly critical element for successful proposals. In this interactive workshop, researchers will learn about elements of BI, and receive guidance to develop innovative public engagement activities specific to their own research and personal interests that are innovative, executable, and can be rigorously evaluated. Drawing upon the NSF-funded STEM Ambassador Program participants will leave the session with ideas that will make their BI statement stand out to reviewers. Participants who take this BI Workshop may later attend a semester-long training for in-depth guidance to implement these BI activities.

Registration Cap: 20

Criteria: Completion of the Grant Writing Foundation: The National Science Foundation course is recommended before taking the BI Workshop.
