Our 2023 Three Minute Thesis (3MT) competition has come to a close. Congratulations to all of our finalists and our winners for an extraordinary job at communicating their research.

Top Off Awards / Diversity Recruitment Bonus
The Graduate School Diversity Office is now accepting nominations for the “top-off awards/diversity recruitment bonuses.” We are awarding a total of five top-off awards at $3,240 each. Graduate programs and/or departments can nominate more than one student; however, decisions will be made based on the strength of the nominee’s application materials and the rigor of the program’s diversity recruitment efforts.

Eleven U students nominated as semi-finalists for Fulbright awards for 2023-24
The national Fulbright Program, sponsored by the U.S. State Department, has selected 11 University of Utah students as semi-finalists this year, a record number for the U. Last year’s total of 10 semi-finalists was also a record number. This year’s list has eight undergraduate students and three graduate students.

The Graduate School is looking for a new Associate Dean
The Graduate School at the University of Utah invites applications for the position of Associate Dean. This position is 0.75 FTE, and tenured faculty with appointments at the Associate or Full Professor level are eligible for appointment. The Associate Dean of the Graduate School serves a three-year appointment with the option to renew, based on mutual agreement, and reports directly to the Dean of the Graduate School.
